Last month I was so pleased to be asked by Evie to shoot her 'Reloved Collection' for Naya Bridal at the Old Shoe Factory in Norwich. You can't help but fall in love with this collection. The styling brought out a western edge and bohemian charm which encompassed the entirety of my love for that wild and free nature in how I work and what I love to see before my eyes and capture.
The abandoned location was full of light, rustic backdrops and atmospheric shadows, a dreamy space to work in. I loved the juxtaposition of the nostalgic backdrop and placing these pre-loved dresses amongst this space, it was very clever and the perfect location to shoot this collection in.
Evie, the face behind these ethically sourced gowns, re-works and handmakes them all. Every dress has a personality of its own and will attract the eco-conscious bride. Allegra - Her fabric and fastenings are entirely from pre-loved gowns. There is something blue sewn into the train taken from the original gown. This blue gem has seen one bride dance the night away, and is ready to dance again. Allegra’s elegant simplicity makes her a showstopper. She had a unique front split with boho lace trim, and bold train with chiffon overlay for an entrance with an impact. She radiates effortlessness.
Jocelyn - Jocelyn used to be a 1930’s style gown with shoulder pads, high neckline and sequin bows. She has been remade into a sexy slip with decadent embossed fabric. All the seams are left raw on the inside to showcase the delicate origins of the vintage gown.
Arlo - All of Arlo’s fabrics and fastenings are completely re-purposed. Taken from a couple of pre-loved gowns to create this one, sleek look. Her modern square neckline is paired with structured satin throughout to sculpt and support the body. c
Kalani - Her modern two piece is made completely from pre-loved wedding dresses. She is now a boho brides dream. Kalani has raw edged panels on her skirt with a clean cut square neck top, and open back detail. Her raw edge tulle radiates bohemian luxury.
Lyra - The modern bold lace on Lyra’s hem is taken from a pre-loved T-length wedding dress.
She has delicate spaghetti tie straps combined with a low back and classic v-neckline. Feel effortless in this fun and floaty gown.
Phaedra - Phaedra is the most fun, playful up-cycled gown. Her full volume skirt means you can dance the night away. For the eco-conscious bride who wants a one off wedding gown.
