Lucy and James’ wedding at Old Gore Barn in Gloucestershire was nothing short of magical. Set in the heart of the Cotswolds, this rustic yet charming venue provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxed yet elegant celebration. Old Gore Barn, known for its unique fire and street-food catering, is a wedding venue that effortlessly blends vintage charm with countryside tranquility, and Lucy and James embraced it perfectly.
The day began at The Stump, where Lucy prepared for the big day in one of the venue’s gorgeous rooms. The setting was intimate, with a four-poster bed and a luxurious bath, creating a cozy yet elegant space for a relaxed morning with her bridesmaids.
Amy Rose handled the makeup, while Juta Zurobeine styled Lucy’s hair, both of whom are known for their exceptional work in the Cotswolds. Lucy’s look was effortlessly chic—her Ivory & Co. gown from Willow in White boutique featured a lace top and a flowing train, perfectly complemented by a summer bouquet from Go Wild Flowers. The soft, delicate hues of the flowers harmonized beautifully with the lilac bridesmaid dresses from Maids to Measure, which featured stylish shoulder bows—a trend that has taken over this wedding season.
The ceremony was a reflection of Lucy and James' love—simple, heartfelt, and full of quiet affection. Their bond was clear in every gentle glance and gesture, making for a truly special moment.
After the ceremony, guests were treated to drinks in the courtyard and on the lawn, basking in the summer glow. The food was divine, with flavors from the venue’s signature open-fire kitchen creating an unforgettable dining experience. This venue's catering is something that always excites me when I return to photograph weddings here.
As the evening unfolded, the couple’s guests gathered outside for Aperol hour, set against the backdrop of the golden Cotswold sunset. It was one of those moments that perfectly encapsulates the beauty of weddings at Old Gore Barn—happy guests, a fun and relaxed atmosphere, and golden-hour vibes.
Adding to the charm was the fun and creative stationery by Trixx Creative. From playful orange Aperol coasters to the adorable sign next to Baz & Fred's Aperol van, every detail added a personalized touch to the celebration. This is your sign to add an Aperol hour to your wedding plans if you’re considering it!
The celebration ended with the cutting of a beautiful flower-pressed cake and dancing in the historic barn. Lucy and James shared their first dance as husband and wife, and then the party kicked off, carrying on late into the night. Before the evening ended, we snuck out to capture some final golden-hour portraits—a stunning conclusion to a perfect day.
